Colorado State University
We can’t talk about things to do in Fort Collins without mentioning our local Colorado State University. CSU is the second-largest university in Colorado and the third-largest research institution. The school offers over 300-degree programs for undergraduates, more than 150 degrees at the graduate level, and over 20 doctoral degrees. Their sporting events can be a great way to get the full CSU experience!
The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery
The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery is the perfect place to take your kids when they’re looking for things to do in Fort Collins. There are exhibits on things like science, history, wildlife, and more. The museum also offers a variety of programs for all ages, including camps for kids.
The Fort Collins Farmer’s Market

Hiking in Fort Collins
There are a number of different things to do in Fort Collins, but hiking is among one of the most popular activities. The trails here offer views, waterfalls, and things for kids to see along the way. Popular hikes include Prospect Trailhead or Grinder Switchback Trail on Mount Sanitas—both have great views! Odell Brewing Company
Odell Brewing Company is one of the best places to see and experience in Fort Collins. The brewery started by Doug Odell back in 1989 has grown into a national brand that’s distributed across the country and now offers year-round beers, seasonal brews, collaboration work with other breweries, tours on Saturdays for those 21+, and much more.
Fort Collins Municipal Railway
There are over 20 miles of rail with things like streetcars, buses, light rail trains that run on electricity collected from overhead lines. The FMT offers service for everyone throughout the day and night—from students needing transportation between campuses to kids wanting to ride the train.
