Berthoud, Colorado is a friendly, small-town community with an appropriate nickname, “The Garden Spot of Colorado.” Berthoud has lots of trees, an abundance of local parks, and lots of fantastic restaurants.

Whether you’ve lived in Berthoud for years, are passing through on a road trip, or visiting family, it’s always fun to explore the town and check out diverse restaurants. As a local company that services Berthoud, the Red Canyon Roofing team enjoys spending time in town. Here are seven of our favorite restaurants in Berthoud, CO.

1) Berthoud Pizza Company

The Berthoud Pizza Company is one of the most popular restaurants in town. The restaurant was founded by brothers Tom and Greg Shope who brought their passion for East Coast-style pizza right to Berthoud.

Something we love about Berthoud Pizza Company is that they’re committed to only using fresh and ethical ingredients. All of their pepperoni, bacon, and ham products are uncured and nitrate-free. They even make their own chorizo and Italian sausage in-house!

This restaurant makes for the perfect family outing or the go-to place when someone can’t make up their mind about what they want to eat. In addition to pizza, they serve:

  • Mac and Cheese
  • Chicken Wings
  • Calzones
  • Salads (With dressings made from scratch!)

2) Benny’s Tacos

Who doesn’t love tacos? Whether you celebrate a weekly taco Tuesday with your friends or you’re just craving some great Mexican food, Benny’s Tacos in Berthoud is the place to be. You’ll love this fresh and vibrant menu paired with friendly service.

You can even head over to Benny’s Tacos for breakfast and try one of their delicious breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, or breakfast tacos. For dinner, we recommend their street tacos or enchiladas paired with a margarita. Don’t forget to order a side of guacamole to share with the table!

3) Bradford’s Grub and Grog

For elevated home cooking and a modern diner-style feel, check out Bradford’s Grub and Grog. “Grub” refers to the comforting, well-prepared food, and “Grog” alludes to the local Colorado craft beers and other spirits that frequently rotate through this restaurant.

You’ll find this restaurant right on the main drag of downtown Berthoud. It’s located in a charming historic building that the owners have maintained. We love the exposed brick walls and high, industrial ceiling.

Whether you want a casual lunch or a nicer dinner, Bradford’s has it all. You’ll love the sandwiches and salads for lunch and impressive premium ribeyes for dinner. This large menu has something for everyone— even the kids!

4) Aussie’s Poke Pitstop

When’s the last time you can say you went to an Australian restaurant? Not many towns can boast that they have an Australian restaurant, but Berthoud can. Aussie’s Poke Pitstop is a new restaurant in town that just opened in October 2021.

Local residents have given out numerous 5-star reviews for this delicious, unique restaurant. They serve up classic Australian eats like poke bowls, meat pies, and sausage rolls. (Vegan and vegetarian options are available!) We love the beach-themed interior that really brings the energy of Australia right to our own backyards.

5) City Star Brewing

Dog-friendly, live music, and dang good beer— what more could you ever want? City Star Brewing is a craft brewery and taproom located in downtown Berthoud. This locally-owned brewery has a crew that brews small-batch beer in-house. Their beers have won numerous awards, so you can truly taste the passion that goes into the process.

Enjoy the dog-friendly patio beer garden all year round, and be sure to stop by on a Friday or Saturday evening when there’s live music in the taproom or beer garden. Or, test your knowledge at Tuesday trivia nights.

Different food trucks park outside each day, so you’ll always have a variety of tasty food to pair with your delicious brew. Non-alcoholic drinks and bar snacks are available each day.

6) Trailhead Cafe

If you’re looking for the best breakfast and lunch in Berthoud, look no further than Trailhead Cafe. We love the bright and airy atmosphere at Trailhead Cafe and of course the great food and fantastic service.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right? The talented chefs at Trailhead Cafe sure know how to serve up a delicious breakfast. You can’t go wrong with their avocado toast, fluffy pancakes, or their loaded omelets. For lunch try a tasty BLT sandwich or classic soup & salad combo. Don’t forget to order a side of truffle parmesan fries!

7) Blue Mountain Vineyards

While Blue Mountain Vineyards is technically a winery and not a restaurant, you can pair chocolate with wine while you’re there, and that’s good enough for us! This local winery is absolutely stunning, as it’s nestled up against the foothills of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

For a unique date activity or a fun outing with visiting family members, schedule a vineyard tour and tasting visit. If you stop by during the summer, you’ll get to take in the breathtaking, colorful garden on the grounds.
